During the summer the sun will silhoutte the many sailboats and motor boats rocking gently on the harbor waters. Across the harbor is Salem Massachusetts with it trading history and if you could look further to the right you would see Fort Pickering lighthouse on Winter island. I used to watch Coast guard aircraft take off from Winter Island in the 1970s while it was a Coast Guard Base conduting search and rescue.
